59th Voluntary Campaign

GOD HAS GIVEN these doctors and researchers the ability to reason and imagine ways of curing eye disease that no one else has thought of.
What they need are funds to see it through.

Greetings Sir Knights of the Grand Encampment

Congratulations to each of you on your appointment as your jurisdiction’s chairman and on the accomplishments during the 58th Voluntary Campaign. Your work continues to amaze all of us as you set records each year. For the second year in a row, we received more contributions than any previous year. Contributions totaled $1,938,951. That is an increase of $61,357 or 3.3% over the prior Campaign. Two record setting years in a row. The Knights of the Grand Encampment are reaching deep and making a difference in this world.

This letter is to kick off and welcome each of you to the 59th Voluntary Campaign. I wanted to personally reach out to each of you and let you know I am available to you as a resource for getting the job done in your jurisdiction. Please call me or the Foundation’s office if you need advice, assistance, or guidance. We are here to help you.

I want you to travel to the Commandery’s in your jurisdiction. Take with you the Crusader’s Cross and any other Eye Foundation awards you can. Let the Knights hold it in their hands. Tell them how easy it is to earn one. Masons are more apt to purchase one if they can hold it rather than just see a picture of it. Have with you the paperwork necessary to get them started on this incredible journey of giving.

During this campaign, we are focusing on achieving 100% Life Sponsorships for all those that are not at that level. I ask you to review your records to confirm that your Commanderies are still maintaining that level. In Texas, we found that some Commanderies were no longer at 100% because they had forgotten the requirement that anyone affiliating with a Commandery must become a Life Sponsor there to preserve the 100% status. Please ask your Grand Commander to issue a General Order, or strongly encourage all Commanderies to work toward reaching 100%. The more awareness you build for the Foundation, the greater our contributions will be. Knights Templar care deeply about helping others, and this Foundation gives them the opportunity to impact generations of children by supporting the ministry of Jesus Christ and continuing His work of restoring sight to the blind.

Let us unite by making a pledge to increase our contributions this year for the 59th Voluntary Campaign by 4%. God has placed before each of us an opportunity to make this world better for ourselves and others. He looks to us to make His miracles happen, to come to life. God has given these doctors and researchers the ability to reason and imagine ways of curing eye disease that no one else has thought of. What they need are funds to see it through. That is where the Eye Foundation and you, a Knight Templar, step forward and say I helped that child. I will contribute money so that future generations will see the light and the Glory of God will shine in their eyes.

Congratulations to all of you. Each contributor plays a vital role in the mission of this Foundation. Each contributor, big or small, deserves our esteem and admiration because without each of them, none of this happens.

May God Bless you, our Doctors, Staff and Officers; and this great charity, The Knights Templar Eye Foundation.

In His Service,

Richard R. Jernigan, PGC
